Joy delights in singing every different style, her range extending from ballads to bossa nova to bebop. She is currently building her collection of lead sheets to call at gigs, but her experience with Darden Purcell has widened the styles she can sing. Her personal favorite style to sing is bossa nova and swings in minor keys. Her alto tone brings back a bit of the husky, grittier elements of jazz singer past.
